Job Description:

Role Overview

As an Asset Manager within the Field Service business, you will be the single point of contact for a portfolio of BESS sites for a key customer in the Eastern region of Australia. You will be responsible for the safety, commercial, technical, and financial performance of the BESS sites, working side by side with our customers to resolve issues and drive their asset performance to optimal levels.

You will lead a small team of service technicians to ensure we provide effective customer support, clear prioritization of service activities and timely responses to commercial and technical issues.

This role requires close collaboration with internal finance and commercial teams to ensure accurate reporting, asset performance tracking, and P&L forecasting.

 Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving KPIs through technical performance, financial metrics, and customer satisfaction, supporting accurate monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Ensure optimal asset uptime and reliability in line with service contracts, acting as the primary point of contact for customer issues and service delivery updates.
  • Lead regular performance and asset review meetings with customers, driving standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across tools, processes, and policies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of technical issues and coordinate resolutions with engineering, product teams, and key subcontractors.
  • Manage subcontractors and work with stakeholders to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to required quality and contractual standards.
  • Manage, mentor, and allocate resources for a team of service technicians, fostering high performance, strong collaboration, and a safety-first culture.
  • Ensure all customer scopes are supported by robust management plans and that service documentation (e.g., work instructions, risk assessments, incident reports) is accurately maintained.
  • Partner with finance and commercial teams to support asset-level P&L forecasting, budget tracking, and input into proposals and contract reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in asset management, ideally within energy, infrastructure, or power generation sectors.
  • Experience in field service delivery and operational environments.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Engineering qualification (electrical, mechanical, or electronic) and/or electrical trade background.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Understanding of BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) technologies and renewable energy systems.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
