About the role
AGL has an exciting opportunity for an experienced ESG Project Co‑Ordinator to join our Power Development team, playing a key role in embedding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) outcomes across our major project pipeline and supporting the delivery of Australia’s energy transition.
Location: This role is to be based in our Melbourne office, with flexible working arrangements available to support work‑life balance. You’ll work closely with project development, sustainability, procurement and construction teams, as well as external partners, to ensure ESG initiatives are effectively integrated across project planning and delivery.
You’ll be part of a high-impact team within Power Development, contributing to the delivery of a large-scale renewable and firming pipeline while embedding positive environmental and social outcomes – aligned to AGL’s values of Bring on tomorrow, Can Do. Will Do., Be Safe. Be Supportive.
What you will be doing
Co‑ordinating the integration of ESG initiatives across a portfolio of development projects, including research, stakeholder engagement and partnership development
Developing and documenting processes, tools and templates to support ESG framework implementation
Balancing priorities across multiple stakeholders while supporting delivery across the project pipeline
Supporting tender processes and contributing to both client and bidder requirements
Supporting the delivery of meaningful ESG initiatives aligned to AGL’s environmental, social and governance goals
Maintaining reporting, tracking and record-keeping systems to monitor ESG outcomes and performance
Providing project co-ordination support across the Analysis team to ensure efficient delivery of major capital projects
Engaging with development managers to understand ESG progress, risks and opportunities across the pipeline
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to leverage expertise and deliver improved ESG outcomes
Supporting knowledge sharing, documentation and continuous improvement of ESG practices across the business
What you will bring
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring strong project co‑ordination capability combined with a passion for sustainability and ESG outcomes within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
Tertiary qualifications in business or a related discipline such as sustainability, commerce, finance or engineering
Experience working with ESG frameworks or supporting environmental or social initiatives
Strong project management capability, including working across competing priorities and stakeholder groups
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively without direct authority
Strong written and analytical skills, including report writing, data management and presentation development
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across internal teams and external partners
Exposure to renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure project development is highly regarded
Demonstrated ability to translate ESG strategy into practical implementation and measurable outcomes
