About the Opportunity  

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented leader to bring together our recently established Employment Compliance team following a strategic redesign of our People and Wellbeing division. Within the industry’s highly regulated and risk sensitive environment, this role offers the opportunity to strengthen institutional capability and confidence in compliant pay and employment practices.  

Working closely with Payroll, Workplace Relations and Systems and Reporting, you will lead a specialist team to embed compliance across everyday processes and decision making. You will play a key role in institutional monitoring, reviews, audits, investigations and remediation activities.  

Exercising significant professional judgement and technical authority, you will translate complex regulatory frameworks into clear, practical guidance and support the team in proactively identifying emerging risks and system improvements. Success in the role is measured not only by regulatory compliance, but by improved organisational understanding, stronger controls, and reduced institutional risk. 

What’s Required 

We are seeking a candidate with significant experience in employment compliance, payroll, workplace relations or a related regulatory field with the capability to operate effectively in a complex environment, including: 

• Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex legislation and industrial instruments, exercising sound and professional judgement in risk sensitive environments. 
• Proven experience leading specialist teams and influencing senior stakeholders across diverse operational and professional contexts. 
• Strong analytical, investigation and reporting capability, including experience with audits, reviews and regulatory or assurance processes. 
• Ability to translate complex rules into clear advice, guidance and learning resources for non-specialist audiences. 
• Significant experience with HRIS/payroll/staff recruitment digital technologies.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex regulator reporting requirements.

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 9 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $160,613 comprising base salary within the range of $130,242 to $137,276 plus 17% superannuation.
