Description

We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As part of our Sustainable Investment & Planning team, you'll play an important role in embedding sustainability considerations across private markets investments.  The successful candidates will contribute across private markets asset classes including infrastructure, private equity, real estate and private credit, while maintaining a primary asset class focus aligned to their role.

We are currently recruiting for two roles:

  • Portfolio Manager – Sustainable Investment Private Markets (Infrastructure focus)
  • Associate Portfolio Manager – Sustainable Investment Private Markets (Private equity focus)

Whether you’re an experienced practitioner looking to lead strategic initiatives or an emerging professional ready to deepen your expertise, you’ll work alongside investment teams to integrate financially material sustainability considerations into investment decision-making including due diligence, monitoring and stewardship activities.

These permanent, full-time opportunities are based in Brisbane or Sydney.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

  • Contribute to sustainable investment frameworks, tools and assessments across private market asset classes.
  • Integrate financially material sustainability factors into due diligence, monitoring and stewardship activities.
  • Engage with external investment managers to influence and promote alignment with sustainable investment expectations.
  • Lead stewardship activities across relevant private market investments.
  • Contribute to climate-related initiatives and the delivery of ART's Net Zero Roadmap.
  • Support strategic initiatives that strengthen sustainable investment capability across the Investments team.
  • Deliver research, analysis, reporting and insights to support investment decision-making.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You hold tertiary qualifications in finance, investments, commerce, economics or a related discipline.
  • Your experience includes working within sustainable investing, private markets – particularly infrastructure or private equity - or a related domain.
  • You'll bring highly developed research and analytical capabilities.
  • You're confident managing stakeholder relationships and influencing positive outcomes.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can confidently present to senior stakeholders.
  • Your ability to manage competing priorities enables you to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You'll demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes.
  • You're experienced or interested in sustainable investing and responsible investment practices.
  • You have exposure to financial modelling and investment analysis.
  • Your understanding of investment markets, regulatory requirements and emerging trends supports sound decision-making.

For the Portfolio Manager role, demonstrated experience leading sustainable investment integration, manager engagement and asset-level stewardship activities will be highly regarded.

For the Associate Portfolio Manager role, we welcome candidates seeking to further develop their sustainable investment expertise while contributing to investment analysis, manager oversight and stewardship activities.
