About the role
The Technology Energy Assets team is responsible for the end-to-end Technology services for all AGL’s Generation assets playing a crucial role in ensuring technology solutions meet business needs and are onboarded safely and securely into operations. As the Technology Asset Manager – Thermal, you’ll be the dedicated technology business partner for your assigned Generation asset portfolio, providing leadership and delivery across the technology stack. You’ll focus on the technology services that underpin electricity generation, while enabling the broader transition as AGL evolves its generation mix and delivery roadmap.
Some of the things you’ll do are:
Own and maintain the 5-year IT roadmap for your assigned asset portfolio, ensuring alignment to business strategy and stakeholder sign-off.
Lead cross-functional delivery across capital programs and in-flight initiatives— defining scope, milestones, resources, budgets, and timelines, and holding teams accountable to outcomes.
Drive service management and operational performance, partnering with service owners to monitor KPIs, service levels, trends and proactive issue resolution across technology services.
Act as the Technology Sponsor for key initiatives, ensuring new applications and services are onboarded in line with business requirements, approvals, and security expectations.
Manage vendors and commercial delivery, including third-party relationships, managed services, and statements of work (SOWs) to ensure value, clarity of deliverables and accountability.
Lead site coordination and escalation, providing direction to site support teams and acting as the primary escalation point for process or service failures across operational locations.
Support major incidents and crisis response, participating in a rotational on-call schedule (including after-hours/weekends) and coordinating internal/vendor support as required.
What you’ll bring
A strong background in IT operations/service delivery, ideally with leadership experience in complex, high-availability environments (IT and/or OT).
Experience working in or with major hazard or operational facilities, with a strong safety mindset and commitment to safe systems of work.
Proven capability to lead programs/projects, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes against budgets and timelines.
Deep strength in stakeholder and vendor management, including managed services, SOW governance, SLAs/XLAs, and continuous improvement.
Relevant certifications (preferred/advantageous): ITIL Foundation, Agile fundamentals, and/or Project Management.
We’d love to see your applications by Monday 8th June 2026.
