About the Role 


  • Permanent full time
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday


This is a newly created, unique role within our Sustainability Team in Paengaroa, Bay of Plenty. We embrace flexible working, and this role will allow you to work from home and our offices in Paengaroa. Typically, our team members come to site a few times week for team collaboration and connection so for this reason would prefer applicants come from with a 45-minute commute to our offices in Paengaroa, BOP.
 
This role will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of Comvita’s external corporate communications strategy, supporting and advancing our social and community initiatives in line with our sustainability Framework (Harmony Plan) objectives, and helping to establish, manage, and grow relationships with external partners and stakeholders.


Reporting into the Head of Sustainability and Strategic Projects, some of the key areas of responsibility will be;


  • External Corporate Communications: Lead in the creation of external corporate content such as annual reports, press releases, social media, website and presentations.
  • Media and Public Relations: Ensure alignment in brand positioning, messaging and timing.
  • Events: Assist with press conferences, webinars, AGM's, and other such events.
  • Strategy Development: Help develop our Community and Social Sustainability strategies to maximize social impact of our Harmony Plan initiatives.
  • Sustainability: Build engagement amongst staff, support sustainability objectives to enhance our ESG performance, and lead in the execution of staff and community initiatives.
  • Relationship Management: Manage and support our relationships with key Harmony Plan partners



What we would like from you 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
  • Experience in developing and delivering corporate communications, ideally for an NZX listed business.
  • Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, ideally with a strong local network.
  • Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and project management software.
